ODL's purpose statement of "We Make Your Life Better™" is a commitment reflected in the actions of our employees, the impact of our products, and the representation of our brand every day.
The phrase should always use Title Case and include the Trademark symbol ™ at the end.
The phrase should always use Title Case and include the Registered symbol ® at the end.
The ODL brand, as well as its culture, is built on a foundation of these core values.
Solid. We are a financially strong business with an open, honest demeanor supported by a diverse workforce with initiative to learn and improve.
Soft. We are a company with a soft heart, compassionate to employees and responsive to the communities where we live and work.
Risky. We are a company with a risky appetite for innovation, recognizing that uncertainty is a part of business. We are willing to take calculated risks with new products, location and people.
The ODL logo's clean and purposeful lines reflect the accompanying mission statement of Building Value Into Building Products®. In instances where the tagline would be too small to be legible, the ODL icon alone is acceptable. In addition, alternative logo designs may be employed based on color, printing specifications, and maintaining balance and consistency in the images.
The ODL logo uses three colors: ODL green, black, and white. The logo should primarily be used on a white background, which provides the most clarity. In cases where the green logo is not appropriate, the black or white logo can be used.

In instances where ODL wants to be a part of a logo lock-up with another brand, certain standards must be maintained.
The two logos should:
To ensure the integrity of the logo, the area directly surrounding it should be protected.
White space should be maximized whenever possible.
The minimum clearance around the logo is represented by the height and width of the ‘O’ in ODL.
The ODL logo may only be reduced to a certain size. Legibility should always be the priority and enforcing this minimum will ensure this standard.
Minimum size:
The logo should typically be used on a white background. This ensures legibility and clarity. In circumstances where the white background does not fit, use a background or photo that provides the best contrast with the logo and refer to the following guidelines:
1. Use the reversed white logo on dark photos or backgrounds
2 Use the green or black logos on lighter backgrounds or photos
The guidelines above detail the acceptable and appropriate use of the ODL logo. To ensure the consistency and integrity of the ODL brand, all modifications are considered improper use.
Don't: Change the color to an unapproved color
Don’t: Change the ratio, stretch, modify or alter the proportions
Don’t: Display the mark without the Registered symbol ®
Don’t: Place the mark on a background that fails to show it in its entirety. The box must be visible.
Don’t: Rotate the mark
Don’t: Change, replace or alter marks in any way
These colors are the only approved primary colors for ODL. All associated collateral should use the format-appropriate codes to ensure the correct color is in use.
These are the only other approved colors beyond the primary blue & green that may be used in ODL branding. The format-appropriate code should be copied to ensure the correct color is in use.

Photos for ODL need to be clear and high-resolution. They should showcase ODL products as refined and traditional. With the exception of retail products, photography should not include people, and should represent a cohesive library of polished and aspirational homes. There should be no photography representing the ODL brand that primarily depicts a color outside of the brand's color palette.
For photos of homes (may be referred to as application shots, app shots, or beauty shots), the ODL product represented should reflect the style of the home, including the home exterior and interior.
Image type: Closeup
Image type: Detail
Image type: Across-the-door
Product images should represent the best qualities of ODL products. Three primary types of product images exist: close-up images, detail images, and across-the-door images
Close-up images should have minimal or muted colors in the background, allowing the character of the glass to shine.
Detail images should accurately represent the privacy level of the glass.
No reflections should be seen and there should be no added filters to product images.
Icons indicating energy efficiency, STC, grille colors, and caming finishes should all be sourced from the ODL DAM site. No additional product icons should be created without approval from ODL.
Web icons should only be in the ODL Green, and should be simple and clean in appearance. No icons except product icons should appear in printed literature.
Messaging for ODL should be consistent with the promise, core values and purpose of the brand.
The voice of ODL is professional but personable. ODL should always speak from a position of authority in the industry, using precise language with proper grammar and formatting. Refrain from using vernacular that is closely associated with any one region, as well as slang and emoticons.
The tone of ODL should be friendly and helpful. Professional doesn’t mean rude or abrupt, and any messaging coming from ODL should reflect our values. ODL is an industry leader in building materials and should seek to educate and inform both our business customers and end consumers.
Variance in tone based on setting or platform is permissible, as long as the guidelines for voice and messaging are followed. A good rule of thumb is to convey information as one would to a respected colleague.
Please refer to the following guidelines for use of certain industry terms under ODL branding:
